On March 1, 2024, a jury in San Antonio, Texas returned a unanimous verdict in favor Cleveland Krist’s client, an Austin family that was sued on accusations of fraud following a transaction where the family sold two companies to the group that eventually filed suit. The plaintiff sued Cleveland Krist’s client and alleged millions of dollars in purported damages from what it claimed were financial misrepresentations about the companies involved in the transaction. After nearly five years of litigation, and a weeklong trial, the jury rejected the claims of fraud and other wrongdoing, with deliberations lasting less than an hour.

Tim Cleveland and Emi Lawson were co-lead counsel for the trial, which lasted five days. Austin Krist successfully briefed and argued several critical legal motions at trial, and handled the jury charge.
