In April 2022, Cleveland Krist, led by Tim Cleveland and McKenzie Edwards, successfully defeated a motion for a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction on behalf of a Houston man sued by an Austin real estate developer in connection with the foreclosure of a real estate portfolio worth over $100 million. Ms. Edwards made the argument that successfully persuaded the trial judge to deny the TRO on the grounds that the plaintiff could not demonstrate a likelihood of success on the merits of the underlying claims. Shortly after the court denied both attempts for the TRO and a temporary injunction, the plaintiff nonsuited the case.
