Biography

Laura Quinn Brigham is a trial lawyer and commercial litigator at Cleveland Krist, representing plaintiffs and defendants in high-stakes disputes in state and federal courts across Texas, New York, and beyond. With more than five years of practice—at some of the world’s leading law firms and now at Cleveland Krist—Laura has built a reputation for her meticulous preparation, sharp courtroom instincts, and command of complex technical subject matter.

Laura leads case strategy, briefing, and trial execution across a broad range of commercial disputes, including contract claims and business torts. Laura is also an experienced courtroom lawyer. She recently served as co-first chair in a commercial trial, arising from a multi-million dollar real estate project and involving claims for alleged financial impropriety and construction defects, that resulted in the jury unanimously finding that the adversary’s claims were brought in bad faith and awarding Laura’s client full attorneys’ fees.

Following the verdict, the client’s Chief Executive Officer said: “Laura was meticulous in her preparation for everything that came our way at trial. Her cross examination of the opposing expert was the moment that turned the entire momentum of the trial in our favor. And her closing argument set the table for the jury to return its verdict in our favor on every claim and issue.”

Laura joined Cleveland Krist from the Austin office of Kirkland & Ellis, where she focused on complex commercial litigation, bankruptcy litigation, and government investigations before regulatory bodies including the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice. Previously, she practiced at Sullivan & Cromwell’s New York office, where she primarily handled securities litigation matters and government investigations. During her tenure at Sullivan & Cromwell, Laura completed a secondment at Morgan Stanley, where she led internal investigations and collaborated closely with business units to assess risks and evaluate potential outcomes.

Laura received her J.D., with Honors, from The University of Texas School of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif. She obtained her B.A. in Government from Cornell University, where she was a member of the Mock Trial Association and served as a Captain and Lead Attorney.
